Separate the People From the Problem

Any grievance meeting has two elements – the merits of the grievance and the relationship between the parties involved. The mistake is to confuse the two. The best solution is to be soft on the people and hard on the merits. It may sound psychologically difficult to be tough and friendly at the same time. But with practice, you can learn the technique. And experience has shown that it works.
